I saw him give a talk around Christmas last yearAt the Greenwich observatory. He banged on and on about how the ESA wouldn't fund another mission and NASA's new probes wouldn't be as good.
He was a nice enough chap at first but seemed very bitter over the whole losing the spaceship thing. Made me sad :(
