This is a question My Biggest Disappointment

Often the things we look forward to the most turn out to be a huge let down. As Freddy Woo puts it, "High heels in bed? No fun at all. Porn has a lot to answer for."

Well, Freddy, you are supposed to get someone else to wear them.

What's disappointed you lot?

Knights of the Old Republic...
Was awesome.

Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords was gash.

Loads of obviously planned subplots that went no-where, crap story. and worst of all NO ENDING! I played it for hours and hours and then it just stopped! Bam thats it no more game go away. I've tried light side, dark side and neutral, theres still no ending, you either fly off that planet or you don't.

Its been explained to me that Obsidian Entertainment were rushed to get the sequel out but my science it was poor, I paid money for an unfinished game.

I hope they make a KOTOR III and I hope its made by Bioware.

I never finished KOTOR II
I got to the part where Kreia kills all the other Jedi (i was playing light side) and just never played again.

KOTOR
Was amazing. Agreed.

KOTOR II wasn't as bad as you made out, some of the main quests were fucking epic, the force powers, weapons, item creation and customisation were massively improved, and it has tonnes of references to the first one.

I agree it was a disappointment, in that it didn't provide as much of a story twist, or didn't "feel" as good, but it wasn't as bad as you've perhaps made out.
Also the entire first level was boring, long and fiddly.
I mean, from what you've said, you've played it a couple of times at least, so that's getting on for 50 hours.
If it was that bad, you'd not have made it to the end once, let alone twice.

KOTOR II
Have to agree it is a shitty half finished game and has a shitload of info stored on the game disk that was never used (Found by hackers a few months after release).

Yeah, there
Was the assasin droid factory, and some other bits.

I've heard there *will* be a KOTOR III, but it won't be for a while.

*shrugs*
Just wait 'til Fallout 3 comes out in the Autumn, that's going to be a-fucking-mazing.

Ok maybe not as bad as I made out
but still a huge disapointment.

I played it twice because I had hoped there would be an ending for dark side as there wasn't one for light.

One annoyance was how hard the end boss was with light side powers but how easy it was with dark side, just use the force crush a few times.

End boss was a bit hard
But then again, Malik in KOTOR was far, far too easy.

Have you played Mass Effect, by the way?
If you liked KOTOR, I'd really strongly recommend it.

Agreed:
Mass effect is very, very obviously influenced by KOTOR, but sadly is still very console-ified.

The PC version has a much improved interface, true, but it still has 39 planets on which there are structures with... 3 floorplans. (Lab, warehouse, abandoned mine). Seriously. 3. All human, too, despite the nicely backgrounded and differentiated alien races.

The characters and plot are excellent, and if you have the slightest shooter-y ability I'd recommend not playing it on anything less than the hardest difficulty you can access at the start of the game (the two harder ones are unlocked later).

Unlike KOTOR which basically went "Talk to this man. Now fight some folks. A bit more chatting, then another fight", I playerd for nearly two hours between the first and second fight scenes and was not in the slightest bit bored.

Mass Effect
I agree with all points there.
Really enjoyed it though.
I played it first time through on hard, but as a Soldier.
Which pretty much means you're in-fucking-vincible by then end of the game.

Second time I'm playing through as a Biotic, the fancy powers make the combat really fun.

I need to get my cunting xbox fixed though. Fucking shoddy Micro$oft wankers.

EA - Bioware
Although Bioware is now owned by EA I believe?

You can guarantee there is a KOTOR 3 and 4 and then KOTOR 2009...with new extra skins for your characters...

woo go EA...

Quiter
I gave up on KOTOR2 when on the space station thingy - man was I bored. LOVED KOTOR, KOTOR2 was just way too much effort. Mass Effect is excellent, and Fable2 looks amazing; the first wasnt bad.
