Kool-Aid
Apeloverage: so food colouring doesn't dye your hair? Kool-aid powder does.
My sister was the posterchild for Kool-aid hair-dying when she was in grade seven. She dyed her hair purple or maroon. It doesn't leave a smell like you'd expect too.
Later on, we decided to dye my white dog's hair green using Kool-aid. He hated it but he was green for another month.
