this village now largely served as a labour pool for the farm which covered the surrounding area . The thing he initially noticed most was the change in pace of life and lack of a sense of urgency among the general populace . He was particularly shocked when he was woken one morning by the sound of men shouting and doubly so when he looked out the window and saw a running battle inching its way down the road . Dressing quickly he made his way outside and asked a local what was going on

'today is when all the sheep are taken to the shagging field and any man from the village can chose one and fuck it for the next year , with no fear of recrimination or ridicule'

'So why the fighting , aren't there enough to go round ?'

'No , there's plenty , but you don't want to get stuck with an ugly one '

I'll have you know that not ALL rural types shag sheep.
