This is a question Driven to Madness

Captain Placid asks: What annoying things do significant others, workmates and other people in general do that drive you up the wall? Do you want to kill your other half over their obsessive fridge magnet collection? Driven to distraction over your manager's continued use of Comic Sans (The Font of Champions)? Tell us.

As a Scouser..
scallies calling everyone "Lad". Fine if you're still a teenager but when it's two grown men... FFS!

Nope...
Lad but pronounced "lid" as in "Alright lid, you goin the pub later lid?" Thought a lid was something you put on a bottle/jar but I digress...

You
are a scouser so not arguing but 'lid' sounds like a South African saying 'lad'. Used to work with a Scouser and he explained it was pronounced 'Lar' or 'Lars' for multiple.

Edit - After checking on the web, both words are used....

Guilty as charged
When meeting in the pub to watch the footie:
"Alright lad?"
"Sound lad. How's your lad, lad?"
"Yeah sound, lad"
"right lads, shold I get the bevies in? Oi lad! Three pints of Stella!"
"Cheers lad"

Weirdly,m when I lived in manchester, it was "fella", not "lad"
