This is a question Driven to Madness

Captain Placid asks: What annoying things do significant others, workmates and other people in general do that drive you up the wall? Do you want to kill your other half over their obsessive fridge magnet collection? Driven to distraction over your manager's continued use of Comic Sans (The Font of Champions)? Tell us.

sex addiction
IT DOESN'T FUCKING EXIST.

Sex is a biological drive designed to be enjoyable thus ensuring the continuation of the species. People who have lots of sex are just fulfilling the basic biological imperative of any living being.

The idea of sex addiction has been perpetuated by individuals who have a warped moral viewpoint on the world, mostly being part of a group created around belief in a fictitious deity which assumes incorrectly that humans are somehow superior to our fellow life forms as we possess a certain degree of mental capacity.

Next thing it'll be "Have you heard about celebrity X? OMG, My twattish magazine for twattish retards says that she's an oxygen addict."

Yeah, but sex addicts
aren't only defined by having sex frequently.

They spend a lot of time on associated activities, whack off a lot and generally let it mess up their lives.

I think you're wrong.
It's the outcome of human obsessions which prove if they're positive, neutral or negative, right?

It's likely that obsessional behaviours AND superstitious beliefs are biological imperatives. I assume you're familiar with studies of superstitious behaviour in animals; false positives being more transferable than false negatives...

Someone who eats at the expense of their health and social function is described as having an eating disorder, so why not apply that logic to other biological imperatives?

I'll grant you that not everyone who claims to have a sex addiction definitely has one, but you're wrong to assert that because something is a biological imperative one cannot become addicted to it.

I'm addicted to sex
But I've got it under control.

In fact, I've got it down to one hit every couple of weeks.

If I wasn't married, I'd probably try to cut it out altogether - strangle the cold turkey.

I am married
and I have managed to cut it out completely, or rather my dealer is restricting supply.
