This is a question Eccentrics

We all know someone who's a little bit strange - Mum's UFO abduction secret, or the mad Uncle who isn't allowed within 400 yards of Noel Edmonds.

Tell us about your family eccentrics, or just those you've met but don't think you're related to.

My auntie is married to her sisters husbands son.

They're not even from St. Helens

"Sister's Husband's Son" - could feasibly be you, are you sure you're not talking about yourself?

I had to wave my hands around to work that out.

I also had to wave my hands around to get that
so you mean her nephew by marriage, not blood? That's a bit odd.
Then again, most of the men in my mum's family all fancy the French aunt-by-marriage. Such is life. When it's legal.

One of the husbands of said aunties
was married prior to marrying my aunt. he had a son by that previous marriage who married my other aunt. Geddit?

There is a considerable age difference in these relationships.

It's still weird though

I am actually
only one step away from being my own grandpa. A bit.

My youngest uncle (A) is married to the daughter (J) of the wife (L) of my oldest uncle (R). So A is R's brother and his son in law. J is both daughter in law and granddaughter to my Gran. A and J's children are R and L's nephews, nieces and grandchildren. R and L's children are their cousins and greatcousins uncles and aunts ... er... ok, I'm lost. You can work it out.

But if J had a previous son, he would be both grandson and great grandson to my gran, and if he married my Gran he would be his own grandpa and his own great grandpa too to boot. The feelings of my Gran's present husband notwithstanding of course (not my actual grandad, who is Ukrainian and has no relevence here).

It made sense when I worked it before. But I had to use a bit of paper.

:/
