This is a question Eccentrics

We all know someone who's a little bit strange - Mum's UFO abduction secret, or the mad Uncle who isn't allowed within 400 yards of Noel Edmonds.

Tell us about your family eccentrics, or just those you've met but don't think you're related to.

No one can make you feel quite so loved as your own family
My aunt has a nineteen year old cat who is decrepit and disgusting and has various forms of cancer and is totally deaf and probably completely fucking miserable every second he, bafflingly, stays alive. She feeds him baby food, although 'he will only eat it straight out of the jar- so really it's a terrible waste as his little beak can only reach the very top layer' and tiny little cubes of imported Irish cheddar- organic only.

Once I asked her, in a kind and cat- friendly way 'Why don't you just let him die?' Her horrified response: 'What if your parents said that about you?! Yes, she's had eighteen years, let's just let her die!'.

Yes. Because that is the same thing for sure.

Also, cats don't have beaks.

Awww
Sounds like poor puss cat hasnt got much longer left anyway. 19s a ripe old age for a cat.

Money saving tip for her. After the cat has eaten as much of the baby food as it can. She should poor the baby food out of the pot, then fill the pot with some paper at the bottom, then pour back in. it'll be back to the top again and the cat wont notice :)

I have an 18 yr old cat. She is deaf, athritic, has one ear, skin cancer and is going blind... But i dont know a happier cat. she is loving and always up for a cuddle. Still manages to potter round the garden and is always purring away whenever she knows your near. She has been spoilt rotton in her old age. Love my old cat Whitey. So not all old, decrepit cats need to be put down.

Then again, the first sign she shows of distress i will do the humane thing.
