The chemistry setI did the same but added every household chemical I could find and held the mixture in a test tube over the meths bunsen burner they provided in the kit.
Result? Thick brown/orange smoke, the bottom of the test tube blowing out and a nasty tarry substance which melted my nylon tracksuit trousers.
