Pointless Experiments
Pavlov's Frog writes: I once spent 20 minutes with my eyes closed to see what it was like being blind. I smashed my knee on the kitchen cupboard, and decided I'd be better off deaf as you can still watch television.

Remember remember, the sixth of November
What happens, we asked, if a group of bored teenaged herberts throws a half-full five-litre can of Castrol GTX on the remains of the village November 5th bonfire the following morning?
Result:
- mushroom cloud
- shattered windows up to 200 yards away
- loads of blue flashing lights
- formerly bored teenage herberts running away and hiding
Conclusion:
- "My dad's got another can in his shed"

Some upright young scientists
once threw a half full calor gas bottle on a dying bonfire here, but the fire brigade proved themselves squares by retreiving it before the village was vaporised :(

Castrol's safety data sheets...
lead me to believe that this is lies. Shattered windows 200 yards away? My arse. No way in hell you'd build up enough pressure in the vessel to make anything more than a tame "flllooomph" noise, at best.
I'm having great fun this week playing bullshit bingo with b3tan's amateur pyrotechnics responses, something I actually do know one or two things about ;-)

Personally
I think that engine oil wouldn't explode, it would just burn.
