The town I grew up in, Loughborough, has a yearly street fair. I don't go anymore.As I got older my perception of the event shifted from 'wonderful annual carnival with super-fun rides!' to 'garish, rusty deathtraps assembled in the dark by pikeys. In November. That cost £4 a go.'
