even though I agree with his views a good deal of the time, and he writes very wittily. There's something rather heart-sinking about his Guardian column, however brilliantly it's put together. It's the unrestrained cynicism I can't stand. By all means slag something off amusingly, but when it becomes your raison d'etre you need to take a look at yourself in the mirror and ask if this is what you want to be remembered for.
