Michael McIntyre, says our glorious leader. Everyone loves Michael McIntyre. Even the Daily Mail loves Michael McIntyre. Therefore, he must be a git. Who gets on your nerves?

All politicians are hypocritical liars who are only in politics to line their own pockets. They will say whatever they think the great unwashed want to hear, and change their tune to whatever they perceive the zeigeist to be.
These two being prime examples.
Any politician who tells you they are doing it for the good of the constituency/the country/the people is lying. Fact.

There are lots of politicians who do good work, and try hard for their constituency, however, they don't get any limelight, and are pushed to the backbenches, as they have scruples, and don't follow whatver pointless policy their leader has come up with.
The true parliamentarians on both sides of the house, are genuinely good, but because they refuse to stab others in the back, and do a good job for their constituency, rather than making rash claims in the tabloids, they do not get the credit they deserve. As a result, they often end up getting shafted by the others, and fading into obscurity.
