He was one of the funniest comics of his dayUnfortunately, there wasn't much competition and he never moved on.

Yup, I did used to like himand owned a couple of his early LPs.
I particularly remember him going on about pubic hair and acting out how to manage it if it grew into a giant Afro. Nearly wet myself laughing at that, back in the day!
