This is a question Family codes and rituals

Freddy Woo writes, "as a child we used to have a 'whoever cuts doesn't choose the slice' rule with cake. It worked brilliantly, but it's left me completely anal about dividing up food - my wife just takes the piss as I ritually compare all the slice sizes."

What codes and rituals does your family have?

Dinner
Same every week, without fail and 10 minutes after I get in from work, unless I find a way to intervene:

Sunday - Roast beef
Monday - Rubbish beef pie
Tuesday - Sausage, beans and mash
Wednesday - Steak
Thursday - Ginsters Pasty (other pasties are available and I recommend them all above Ginsters)
Friday and Saturday - I stay down the pub and try not to eat red meat....

Good Dinners
Do you cook them all yourself?

Nope
That's why I don't complain. I do shoehorn in a bit of chicken or seafood once in a while, I do enjoy cooking, but after a days work I find it easier to just eat and collapse.

Whoever cooks it for you
(Prob a woman!) probably finds it easier to just collapse after work too
;-)

christ almighty that sound sounds dull
grounds for divorce i reckon

and before the flaming starts

i do all the food shopping,
all the cooking

always

(ok so i know when i'm REALLY STARVING hungry because only then could i contemplate eating something my wife had cremated - some people are best kept out of a kitchen, but thats besides the point)
