This is a question Family codes and rituals

Freddy Woo writes, "as a child we used to have a 'whoever cuts doesn't choose the slice' rule with cake. It worked brilliantly, but it's left me completely anal about dividing up food - my wife just takes the piss as I ritually compare all the slice sizes."

What codes and rituals does your family have?

Thumbs
I have no idea where this came from, but now whenever my five-year-old son and I agree on anything, we both do a thumbs up and then touch them together.

Does anyone else do that?

I hope so.

My mother and I
Do that whenever we think something is "ace" (my word) or "lovely) (her word).

I'm nearly 17 now.

Keep your bonds up with your son and you'll still be doing that in 12 years time too :)

It's a cool little ritual. :P
