Family codes and rituals
Freddy Woo writes, "as a child we used to have a 'whoever cuts doesn't choose the slice' rule with cake. It worked brilliantly, but it's left me completely anal about dividing up food - my wife just takes the piss as I ritually compare all the slice sizes."
What codes and rituals does your family have?

Haulage.
I think I was in my mid teens when I realised that not all families were oblidged to say 'Eddie Stobart - that bastard' whenever they saw one of the lorries.
To my knowledge no one in our family ever had dealings with said company or had reason to question the parentage of the owners and the true reason why - if any - was lost with my Dad.

Theres an Eddie Stobart depot thing where I live
Id seen them on the TV a lot when I was a kid thinking my town was famous because Eddie Stobart only worked from here and everyone knew who they were.
It was only last year when I discovered that they operated all over the country. I was genuinely saddened.
I need to get out more

coming from Carlisle, where eddie stobart started his haulage company many years ago...
i've actually met the guy on a great many occasions. to be fair he's always struck me as a weasely little twunt. anywho he sold the company to tinckler a bunch of years ago, before the massive expansion.
