zinc oxide cream is used to soothe inflamed skin.
I think maybe you were having an adverse reaction to the clown.

considering everytime I've tried to use a product with Zinc or Zinc Oxide in it I've had exactly the same reaction, I'm more inclined to think it's the Zinc.
