Sounds liek a plan
Who will step up and organize b3tastock '09?
(, Fri 5 Jun 2009, 14:17, closed)
a fine plan
I reckon we've got a good few bands here who would be up for playing too.

My mate's band would play

I'm certainly up for helping with the organising
I suggest we find a pub with a big field, put up a stage and just do it. How hard could it be?

Pub with field
I know a pub with a field...in northumberland unfortunately for all you southern b3tans.

Harder than you'd expect
Probably not too bad if it's only a few hundred people in a pub/field scenario, if they're only staying overnight, and you do a big barbie. Bit harder if you're laying on entertainments that need licenses (what's the common factor joining b3ta together? Being able to draw your own pictures on blank canvases on a field, perhaps?).

It's also worth making sure the pub doesn't run out of beer. This happens more often than you would expect, even after you repeatedly remind them precisely how much beer is required..

I can remember a pub with a big field in Swindon (about the only good thing in Swindon), and others in Leicester and suchlike. I'd prefer it to be further north so I don't have to travel though..

Experienced Event Organiser....
...I happen to have measure of experience in event organisation (admittedly LARP, but for a few thousand people etc.) and I reckon I could handle a few hundred.

No idea about booking bands, mind you...

..let me know if I can be of help.

(feckin' splendid idea, tho!)
