"Eternal flame" by the BanglesThis song always conjours up memories of my first ever love, Emma Somethingorother. As you may have guessed my memories of my life before the age of 13 are not brilliant (we were both 10) but this song always reminds me of her. I remember it was playing on the bus on the way back from a school trip as I sat next to her. The image that comes to mind whenever I hear it is of us both sitting on top of the climbing frame in the playground of my primary school. I cannot to this day remember what we were talking about but I do remember for the first time feeling a deep connection. I remember feeling for a short time that there was nowhere else in the world I would rather have been than sitting on that climbing frame with her.
Of course she later kissed Damian Wilson, the school bully. Bitch.
I punched him in the mouth and made him cry, though.
