Brown eyed girlreminds me of desperately pawing at a bloke I fancied on the dancefloor of a Butlin's disco aged 16. I now realise that while I smugly thought I was the luckiest thing alive when he asked me to dance, he actually only did it out of pity and the fact we were the only ones not dancing. And when he asked I jumped up so eagerly I had to stand there and wait while he finished the last of his beer and put the glass down. I re-live the fucking cringeworthy inadequacy of it all every fucking summer.
