Fandango (1985)
Witty, clever, touching, thought provoking in the same way 'The Breakfast Club' was, looking at the dark side of 'the draft' in 1971 for drop outs.

Not even ruined by Costner but the rest of the cast are faultless - Judd Nelson in the 80's was a dreamboat - even 1 bloke who is unconscious for 99% of the movie and is used like a prop!

First film of Marvin J. McIntyre (who played Harold Weiss in 'The Running Man') as a genuinely freaky looking hippy running a flight school.

Laugh out loud and still sticks with me today, the theme of coming to the end of your responsibility free early years and leaving behind as you move into unknown land of grown-up-ness. Still brings a tear to my eye...

Always thought the fireworks fight in the cemetery was quite an effective moment.

Once I retire and Me and the wife do our coast to coast USA roadtrip in an 70's Cadillac stopping at ropey Motels and battlefields, we're defo off to see DOM
