This is a question Flirting

Do you flirt with check-out girls just for the heck of it? Are you a check-out girl and flirt with sad-looking middle-aged men for fun? Are you Vernon Kay? Tell us about flirting triumphs and disasters

Thanks to Che Grimsdale for the suggestion

Since a lot of these stories start with "I'm not good at flirting..."
...does anyone know anyone who actually is? It seems like a ritual constructed to create as many humiliating events as possible.

I'm crap at it as well
however it's all (if you're a man) about having the cojones to take the risk.

There are those men who are seemingly armed with egos made of brass who can go up to a woman, try it on, fail, not care, move onto the next one...eventually they will succeed.

There are then the rest of us who rarely pluck up courage to try, if we do try, fail, then go home and play Smiths songs for the next 4 years.

I guess it's not so much flirting as a process of elimination....
when I first turned 18 I'd do ok, mostly by working my way around a club til I found someone who'd let me eat their face. Then I had a GF for a few years, and during that period I aquired something called 'shame', which renders my previous *ahem* technique useless.
