This is a question Stuff I've found

Freddy Woo writes, "My non-prostitute-killing, lorry driving uncle once came home with a wedding cake. Found it in a layby, scoffed the lot over several weeks."

What's the best thing you've found?

A digital find
While prowling through this computer (the work computer I'm currently using) I found a HUGE stash of mp3s. No idea why.

While I've enjoyed finding Led Zeppelin's entire works on here and have had fun with the Art of Noise and Public Image Ltd. and Nickel Creek, others have struck me as odd. I've found Metallica on here- not unsurprising, though I dislike them- but I've also found the Backstreet Boys on here, and some pop tart named Mylene Farmer.

My tastes in music range far and wide, but listening to this collection on shuffle has been giving me cultural whiplash. Going from Tom Waits to Peter Paul and Mary is a bit harsh.

(Gah! Now it's popped up 80s Genesis with Phil Collins! BLARGGHHH!)

Mylene Farmer is yum
tasty french chanteuse but pop tart nonetheless - she pre-empted the likes of Tori Amos with all that vampish misleading pseudo-pr0n imagery.

I had never heard of her
before today. Listening to her one or two tracks at a time is fine, but I suspect that an entire album of it would make me homicidal. She affects a strange breathy whispery sort of voice on the tracks I've heard, like someone who can't really sing but has been asked to record something anyway.

I've since had Staind, Black Sabbath and the Mediaeval Baebes pop up. I skipped past Alan Parsons Project and Johnny Cash, though I did let Cat Power play. Old School Freight Train was fine, but Pet Shop Boys had to go. And the less said about Shania Twain the better...

I've found Simply Red on here, but it's balanced out by Stevie Ray Vaughan at least... GAH! Drive By Truckers! SKIP! Ah, Pat Benetar, that's better. The Temptations? They'll stay. Tuck & Patti are a bit... I dunno. Vocal jazz is normally not my thing, but I'll keep them anyway. The Sugarcubes are a good find... Macy Gray?!? FECK! And why do I have Cypress Hill?

I need to do some serious weeding.

Christ...
...my mp3 collection would kill you then!

It ranges from Chaz and Dave to Rush to Led Zep to Bros to s-club 7.

There's some very, very odd stuff in there.

Well, mine is widely varied
but I don't do country, hip-hop or cheezy pop. And things like Peter Paul and Mary really should be consigned to the dustbin of history...

Got a fair bit of Elvis Costello on here though.

It does get a little odd when it kicks up a track from "Shut Up Little Man" though...
