This is a question Turning into your parents

Unable to hold back the genetic tide, I find myself gardening in my carpet slippers, asking for a knife and fork in McDonalds and agreeing with the Daily Telegraph. I'm beyond help - what about you?

Thanks to b3th for the suggestion

Balls, just thinking about this question has upset me.

I've not only turned into my Dad, I've fucking overtaken Him!

Mini Cooper
Mini Cooper S
Mini Cooper S - Downton Tuned
Cortina GT
BMW 635M
Peugeot 405 Mi16
Astra GSI
Vectra Sri
Astra VXR
(possibly missed of a few here, but they will have been on the same trend)

Me:

Mini Clubman
Mini Cooper S
Fiesta 1.4 S
Nissan Micra (Company Car!)
Citroen AX
Citroen Xantia
Peugeot 406 2.0 GLX
Vectra Sri 2.0
Zafira Dti
Saab 9000
Rover 827 V6 Sli
Vectra Sri 2.2 - Dads old one, sold as it only did 30mpg.
Saab 9-3 2.2Tid

Muh!

As for my Mum she retired 6months ago after having her hip done and she now just potters around their garden tending to the pond and garden, I'm so jealous, I want to do that now, not in 31yrs! 31? fuck that's bloody ages away! :-(

Anyway, best go pack, moving house tomorrow.

Brave
....but also arse-achingly dull.

I'm thinking of posting a list of meals I've had - then a list of meals my dad's had.

Whaddyareckon?

Without even
the brief flirtation with decent versions of cars, tuning or German engineering to break the monotony.

Bad isn't it.
Maybe I'll go and buy an Audi or something. Would that be ok with you all?

Oi!
So French cars are shit and Vauxhalls are dull.

But he had a Saab 9000! Still one of my favourite cars. His dad had a BMW 635, which is another epic motor.

You had a Nissan Micra
as a company car?

I hope you resigned from that job!
(, Fri 1 May 2009, 12:06, closed)
I was only 17!
and a trainee car salesman so wasn't old enough to drive the superb* Sunny/Primera....

To be fair it was a brand new K reg 1.3 and compared to the sheds my mates were driving it was 'very' slightly cooler.

And yes I did resign, went back to college

heh!
Mini (racing green edition)
Clubman 1275 GT (stuck a avonbar 1380 with a rally cam, it used to gently rock when sitting in traffic and I would snap the mounts at least once a month)

alas, I went down the other route, down the dark side from then on.

ZEE GERMAN VW MK1 GOLF 1.8GT!

My dad had a angila with the exhaust replacing the brake lights and also had a Cortina GT.

BRG
Same colour as mine then but that'd be where the similarities ended.

Mine was just a fairly standard 1275 but I did put twin Webbers on it, it sucked like a whore, but was quite thirsty too.

I called my dad to ask him if I'd missed any but I won't put them on here (Except the famous TR6), don't want to bore people further!

Anyway when I went through the list he only recited the bloody registration mark of everyone of them! maybe I haven't overtaken him just yet, I have a job remembering mine now.

Quick cars in the day those Cortina's.

I remember in my first Mini going down Kelsall/Tarvin hill and the speedo needle went to 'E' on the fuel gauge - rough guess 115mph
