This is a question Turning into your parents

Unable to hold back the genetic tide, I find myself gardening in my carpet slippers, asking for a knife and fork in McDonalds and agreeing with the Daily Telegraph. I'm beyond help - what about you?

Thanks to b3th for the suggestion

For comparison
When my parents were my age, they owned their house outright, were debt-free, and were in a solid relationship. My dad had been in stable employment for about a decade and would remain so for another decade; my mum was a housewife, but was happy enough with it.

I don't own my house, I'm more in debt that I could ever possibly imagine, I'm a perennial singleton, and I've only been employed for three years of my entire life. There's a chance that'll end in a little over a month, too.

On the other hand, they'd had two children, whereas I haven't completely ruined my life.

'Ello, Bert.
How're you?

I've recently been reading Monkey - the Chinese book on which the TV series was based - and the title character just kept making me thing, "Hey - that's Monkeysex all over...". The resemblence was uncanny.

I've never been able to get into Monkey
It's all a bit 70s for me.

Might give the book a try though, as I can't imagine he's anywhere near as much of a cock as I am.

I think I only saw one episode...
But the character in the book's all bouncy and energetic and - occasionally - a bit annoying, but forgivably so...

Now I see where you're coming from
it's a personal attack on me by yet another one of the internet's big bullies.

When I'm not going to take it y'hear? I'm going to cry and tell my Mum.

As we all know
It's because our generation is feckless and lazy and don't save. Nothing to do with job insecurity, debt burden from education and our parents generation not selling us their houses for less than a quarter of a million quid that they picked up for 4 1/2 grand in 1971. Cunts.

* hugs Enzyme *
And empathizes.

Sounds a tad like me as well. I'm applying for jobs at the moment and a colleague (whose opinion I care a great deal about) said "why don't you apply abroad, I mean, it's not exactly like you have anything keeping you in the UK, like a family..."

which is true, but when you put it like that, god it stings a bit...

Still, it's friday, monday is a bank holiday and the sun is shining, so I'm a happy little sod today!

Meh.
It was actually an excuse to make a joke about children and how they represent a wasted life.

Noone seems to have noticed that...

I got it
but didn't agree.

Likewise
Mine may be annoying little shits most some of the time but I don't think I've wasted my life having them. Changed it, for sure, but I'm glad I've got them, all in all it's been a great experience.

Fuck me, did I actually admit that?

Ah, houses.
They only cost roughly... fifteen times your yearly fucking income now.
