This is a question Turning into your parents

Unable to hold back the genetic tide, I find myself gardening in my carpet slippers, asking for a knife and fork in McDonalds and agreeing with the Daily Telegraph. I'm beyond help - what about you?

Thanks to b3th for the suggestion

when i lived at home
it drove me mad that my father insisted on keeping the tv remote on top of the tv. surely that is the most stupid place of all, as if you've got that far, you might as well just do it manually.

but now, now i am old and have my own place, it drives me mad if people don't put my remote back on top of my tv when they stay here.

bollocks.

sounds just like my Dad.

Leaving the remote on top of the TV when it's off - I can understand. At least you know where it is.

Leaving the remote on top of the TV while you're watching it, meaning that he has to walk to the set every time he wants to change channel/adjust volume - this is what makes him my Dad. Bless him.

TV remotes
should live on the table next to your favourite chair, just on the near side of the coaster so there's no danger of knocking over your tea as you reach for it.

I aspire to be that way
I always have to play "hunt the remote". As a student I found 2 remotes down the back of the sofa in my digs, one was the remote I was looking for, the other was an ancient thing that had about 4 buttons on and had probably been down there since the late Jurassic period.
