This is a question Going Too Far

Ever had one of your mates go too far? Back when I was a teenager I went to stay with a friend in the country. We took his dog for a walk in some woods - which was fun.

We came across a breeding pen for the local pheasant shoot - which was interesting.

But then my friend broke into the cages, grabbed a pheasant, strangled it and proceeded to throw it around, only managing to rescue it from his dog's jaws seconds before a gamekeeper turned up to see what the hell was going on. Now, that was a bit too far...

Hey look…

…Seeing as it’s Thursday, and we’re all sitting around waiting for a new question, I don’t mind spending a little while defending my fascistic postings against the poster affectionately known as ‘twat’.

I’d be the first to agree that many of my posts are far from humorous, but I do try to make my un-humorous posts either interesting or entertaining. My concern with Twat’s posting was that as it totally lacked any sign of humour, I was led to believe that it was a true story describing what can only be described as a sickening and harrowing ordeal guaranteed to cause life-long trauma to the poor victim.

After reading this board regularly for some time now, I think (and I stress think) I can tell when a poster is serious, when they are exaggerating, when they are lying, when they are lying for comic effect and when they are posting a totally fictional but entertaining story. To me, Twat’s post came across as a confession, and as such, was much more worrying (to me) than the sickest of sick jokes; I think this feeling was shared by others.

As a regular to the board, I do not feel that it was out of place for me to register this concern. By all means post your own views, I can take it if you don’t agree with me and I don’t mind.

Anyway, let’s have the next question.
