When I took my kids for a stroll up a Welsh mountain years ago we were overtaken by a dozen or so squaddies,who waved and grinned as they sauntered past our little group. Lovely lads.
Blimey, how fit are THEY! I thought.
A few minutes later though a little platoon of Gurkhas passed us, in tight formation, in double time. That's running in step. Uphill. Fast.
They smiled at us and carried on, up the trail, soon overtaking the squaddies and disappearing over the brow of the hill.
