I was sitting next to a teacher on the train a couple of years ago, who was marking sums.
We got chatting, and I noticed that
A: She was using a green pen, and B: She was ticking correct answers and putting "C" for wrong ones.
On enquiry, I was interested to learn that red pen is now perceived as too aggressive, and that "C" means "Correction needed", as an X is - like the above use of red pen - too aggressive.
And verily I dydde weepe.

Never trust someone who writes in green ink. Unless it's in moderation and you're a girl doing a biology project.
