If you had met Ivy you probably wouldnt think so (although i'm only going on what my grandad has said she did)
She had a list of evil shit she used to pull, which among other things were
...confiscating the oldies cigs and when they were returned, they would be short one or two and had holes poked all down the side so they didnt smoke properly
...putting things under the cushions so the oldies were uncomfortable when they sitting down
...she used to turn the TV volume down when she thought someone was interested in something

all in all, she were a right nasty twat, and IMO shit on her face is mild to what she actually deserved.

these could all just as easily be:

Old person forgets how many cigarettes he has left
Old person forgets that he left something on his chair
