When I read a bookI like to start at the top left-hand corner of a page, reading it from left to right and then moving down a line.
When I've finished the page on the left, I move onto the page on the right. Once I've read both pages, I turn over to the next page and repeat the process.

Kinda correctHistorically, Chinese orthography starts at the top right then vertically down, then left one column, repeat.
More recently (1950s) China standardised on left to right, horizontally. By the 90s, most Chinese-style-writing nations have followed suit, except Taiwan.
