I cry shennanigans...Surely, you mean 90°, or 270°.
180° would be parallel to the original direction, and hence not perpendicular.
Almost as silly as someone saying they did a "360° U-Turn" - That's not a U-Turn. It's a full bloody circle!

NopeIt can be in line with the desk or at 90 degrees. As long as it's matching the angles we're good.
