You can't say that...
You have put a comma (which is a well known separator) in front of "but" (which is a conjunction). Mr. Das said we shouldn't do that.

You may be right.
I used the commas to denote an aside -- which I understand is incorrect. I, however, was taught to use them in that way and have read examples of similar use in literature -- so I continue to do so.
Of course my English is flawed but at least I try. That is my point.
