A place I used to work people would come in and announce 'what a lovely place you have here' pretty much just before then leaving, I got into the habit of muttering either 'how the fuck would you know' or 'If it was any good you would have bought something' I must have been getting more annoyed than usual at this pointless politeness from people who stayed less than a minute as the last time somebody managed to pick up me saying something if not exactly what it was, maybe I should just throw stuff instead.
