Our IT support guy has been in the job since 1979, and never misses an opportunity to pick up a mouse and say "Hello computer" into it, Star Trek-style. Tell us your tales from the IT support cupboard, either from within or without.

a Boshtiba notebook accredited technician. Please feel slightly less embarrased with the knowledge that you are not alone, and a significant percentage of my workload consists of 'unmuted sound', 'turned little volume wheel up' and in the olden days 'adjusted contract with little wheel until I could see a picture'.
Admittedly we did take the piss somewhat and started sending out very, very patronising pictures to 'help'. Such as a macro-closeup of the volume wheel, loaded into Paint, with "quieter" and "louder" and a big wobbly arrow drawn on it.

I'm not sure if I should feel less embarrased or more worried that theres more than one of me making similar mistakes out there! Kudos for the paint drawings though .. I wasn't lucky enough to get one that time.
