This is a question Hidden talents

Roger Boyes tells us: "I was once coaxed up on stage and did ten minutes of off-the-cuff stand-up comedy. Amazingly, I brought the house down. A few weeks later, having rehearsed like hell, I went back to the same stage and got hardly a titter. Well, sod that." Have you ever amazed yourself with hidden talents?

You're probably thinking of HFA
Most autismers are of unspectacular intellect, with regards to the bits of their brains that are actually working properly. Savants are rare, other kinds of autismers are medium and well done but I can't be arsed to finish that joke properly.

I worked in a maths department.
I've met enough spergers to know what I mean, petal.

I see your maths dept....
...and raise you IT and software development.

Anyway, since 'they' juggled all the descriptions in DSM-V I'm not even sure what I'm referring to any more.

IT is for thick dull people.
Dunno why you'd think that's a raise from a maths department given that about a third of maths lecturers and post docs are full-on spergers.

Oh how sweet, mentioning the new bible - DSM-V.
The book with something for everyone, mainly drug companies.

Drug companies are at the forefront of discovery*
*where 'discovery' means making up diseases and concocting mildly harmful (otherwise you wouldn't feel like it was doing anything) drugs that have to be taken at least once a day... forever!
