Serial numbers for softwareWhy do a lot of computer games and software packages these days come with serial numbers? (or "CD-Keys") They ask you to type them in during the installation of the software, and refuse to install if you type in the wrong number. Now am I the only one who does not think this would be an effective way to stop piracy? I mean, if you can copy the cd, then surely you can write down a few numbers and letters? Come on, has this stopped anyone???
Also, what is with the microsoft Product Activation crap, it was bad enough when it was just Windows XP, but now everyone is doing it!
Makes me laugh, really...
