I know exactly where you're coming from, being a graduate coming into a private firm.
Me and the Business Development Manager (prefers the term 'BDM') were discussing via e-mail my draft of a client delivery note. One of the headings (in a box in excel) had a light grey background - fair enough. My 'BDM' demanded it get changed into a kind of check criss-cross background, which I said, in my opinion interfers with the text but obviously she has the final say.
She exploded into an email rant about how my opinion is irrelevant and the priority is the needs of the customer. She copied in the bloody Managing Director and I got a blasting!
I would've quit there and then if I wasn't skint, but alas I needed the money.

YepBiting your tongue is the hardest part.
In my case, her boss realises she's a hypocrite at least so I can get away with venting my spleen every now-and-then.
