This is a question Impulse buys

I'm now the owner of a monster trampoline that's nearly too big for the garden. Tell us your retail disasters and triumphs.

Bullets
A real, 100% genuine 7.62mm bullet.

It cost me 50pence from some ex-military stall at an airshow.

I was 8, my dad had let me wander off (it was safe for us kids to do that when I was a lad) so I spent 50p of my £1.00 pocket money on a bullet.

I've no idea why I wanted a bullet but I thought it was the coolest thing ever to actually own one. Seriously, a real bullet!!! How ace was I!!!

Not very.

Hahaha...
...Brilliant!

I have to confess to doing this as well - which means we're both ace!

I think I was about 9 and was dragged around a garden centre somewhere near Wisbech when I saw a big box of old old old bullets and brought one... I think it was £1, I was clearly ripped off if you got one for 50p! Oh and I'm afraid I don't know why there were bullets for sale in a garden centre... oddness!

It's a very fine bullet.

Sorry in advance...
[pedant] 7.62 [/pedant]

Well
I was going to say it too. You're a faster pedant, but not the only one.

Being even more pedantic, it's 7.62mm, so not only was the placement of the decimal point wrong in the original post, but also the metric used.

Seven - point - six - two -millimetre!
Full - metal - jacket.

EDITED
Silly me :0)

This is a habit of mine also
I've been taking the odd one from work though, and looking at my assorted collection now I think I'd get in quite a lot of trouble with the police if they found out as the majority are live. Smoke grenades, 2/3 of a box of 5.56, 20cm belt of 7.62 right up to a 30mm tank round :s

Might make a new habit of sneaking them back in before I get in to trouble.

Naughty naughty!
You can get in serious shit for stealling ammo.
:-) still cool though.

I bought a bullet when I was 6
and lost it in the playground the very next day.
Now I want it back :-(

Well, I dunno...
I remember when I was a young'un, and my buddy from school came in with a box of bullet shells nicked from his dad. He gave one to everyone in the playground. I still have mine, and think it's pretty ace.

At a car boot I once found
a shell/bullet which had a biro tip in it - the original head had been chopped off and could be used as a lid. bargain for £2.50, and it still works 8 years later!

I'm still not sure why I decided I needed one, though...
