Well actually *adjusts glasses*eggs probably evolved between 1 and 2 billion years before the domestication of the chicken (which is estimated at 10,000 years ago, though this number seems low to me for reasons far too interesting for this thread).
Would a masturbating embryo count, btw? Mammal embryos certainly do it and I would not be surprised if other species do it too. More research is needed.
