This is a question Accidental innuendo

Freddy Woo writes, "A woman I used to work with once walked into a car workshop to get her windscreen replaced, and uttered the immortal line, "Have you seen the size of my crack?"

What innuendos have you accidentally walked into? Are you a 1970s Carry On film character?
Extra points for the inappropriateness of the context

A difficult decision...
One of the guys in my office has to give a talk next week on his work. Jokingly, he suggested people might pay more attention if he came up with a swish acronym for what he was studying. He's studying Carbon Dioxide Concentrations.

I of course explained to him the connotations of such initials. Now, fellow b3tans, since the devil on my left shoulder has distracted the angel on my right with bubble wrap, I ask you: should he consistently and repeatedly use this abbreviation in his talk, eliciting sniggers only from the other b3tans who might be secreted in the room?

CDC?
I've just had a flypast from the Whoosh bird.

Unless you mean CO2C...?

Well...
...obviously CO2C would be scientifically correct, but yes, I was being immature* and referring to CDC. I also suggested he use a big magenta cock as a logo, but that was probably going a bit far.

*I say it like it's something unusual

Um, er...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDC

I still don't get it.

Ah, sorry,
It may be more of a /board thing.

CDC = Crudely Drawn Cock.
(, Wed 18 Jun 2008, 12:09, closed)
it is definitely a board thing
if you google CDC, you get Centre For Disease Control whereas if you google CDC B3TA, you get Crudely Drawn Cock.

Ooops
I is new.
(, Wed 18 Jun 2008, 12:33, closed)
Not to worry
As baz has just confirmed, the CDC is more endemic to /board language. Does this suggest I'm spending too long lurking on there? And should my friend use this abbreviation frequently in his talk?

You have to switch between the two
Board and QOTW - both have their purposes. 'tis easier to while away a train journey reading QOTW on a phone than tryin to keep track of /board, for example.

However, /talk - never visited and don't wanna.

Freaks.
(, Wed 18 Jun 2008, 13:03, closed)
Likewise...
I never felt brave enough to dip my toe in /talk. I fear it might be nibbled away by internet piranha.

I got
most of the way to starting a wikipedia article about CDCs, but then decided I couldn't be arsed and didn't have any references.

maybe someone else should do it....
