Is it common courtesy to reply to EVERY application?
I thought that was only necessary after an interview.
And if they get their mum to phone up they are clearly a loser anyway

I try to reply to every application
except the complete no-hopers.
I don't set much store by graphology, but the alarm bells for this one went off before I'd opened the envelope. No smiley faces or rainbows, but they wouldn't have look out of place. Green ink too, if I remember accurately.
