Pathological Liars
Friz writes, "I recently busted my mate who claimed to have 'supported the Kaiser Chiefs in 2001' by gently mentioning that they weren't even called that back then."
Some people seem to lead complete fantasy lives with lies stacked on lies stacked on more lies. Tell us about the ones you've met.
BTW, if any of you want to admit to making up all your QOTW stories, now would be a good time to do it.

Films
I'm not sure why, but whenever a friend asks me if I've seen a film, or a TV series, or whatever, I will instinctively reply with 'Yeah...', and, if I haven't, then append that with 'but it was ages ago and I was really drunk/stoned/tired so I can't remember it'.
I will even go as far as to nod along and pretend I actually know the bits of the film they're talking about. And I have no idea why I do this, I just can't seem to help it.

I do this too
But in my case it's a desperate desire to appear cultured and clever instead of uncouth and dim.

me too
I do it to, tho because I'm a bit deaf and can never hear what people are asking/telling me, so often laugh at inappropriate times - for example, called my friend a couple of weeks ago and started giggling when she said I'd caught her in the loos at Asda - she actually said she'd been really ill and was on antibiotics..not sure how I got that mixed up...

i used that very same technique at primary school
to fool my best mate that i had also seen the entire series of 'the paul hogan show' that was on at 10pm, despite my bedtime being 8.30.
I didn't even know what paul hogan looked like.

I do this sometimes
for some reason. Generally, being a film student, its to keep up with my cultured classmates, who've all seen ridiculously arty films that are boring as hell but apparently required viewing. I'm stopping myself doing it though, because someones going to
a) catch me out by saying "do you remember that bit when he fellated the donkey" when such an occurrence never happened!!!
or
b) If I say 'No', I can quickly follow it up with a 'Can I borrow the DVD'. No need for Blockbuster!

ohemgeez
I do this too...also have no idea why.
I'm sure I would get to see loads of ace films if I told the truth, but I don't!

Yeah, It'd probably be better just to say 'no' and actually watch the film
rather than just saying 'yes' and then sitting there complaining of boredom. Yet I just can't do it.
