This is a question Little Victories

I recently received a £2 voucher from a supermarket after complaining vociferously about the poor quality of their own-brand Rich Tea biscuits, which I spent on more tasty, tasty biscuits. Tell us about your trivial victories that have made life a tiny bit better.

ISP
I was with a certain ISP for many years - no problem with at all - pretty near 100% uptime, and never made a cockup.
I moved house, and then the trouble started.
As I don't have a bank account, paying them over the phone was a bit of a pain. So what I would usually do is give the money to a friend for the entire year, then pay the whole lot in advance for that year.
Of course, when I moved house they had to set up a new account. They took the money for the whole year of a friends card. Then a month later...took it again.
They said sorry and returned the money. I told them that as a gesture of goodwill, they would let me have that month free and they agreed, but it would come off of next years amount.
In the end, they did this every month for 8 months - paying the bank charges incurred by my friend each time for going overdrawn each time as well.
The following year, I got 8 months free!!

Then I changed ISP to one that takes the lot in cash each year.

They
paid up pretty easily, but then they would send demanding letters for the 'monthly' payment, despite having it a year in advance.

a lack of communication between left and right hand.
so fucking frustrating sometimes, trying to get those buggers to listen. or rather trying to get the message through to the right person!

Yeah
every month I'd have to phone them up.
It was pretty embarrassing to start with, I mean a friend had helped me out, and they were getting fucked over for it.
I told them on the phone that if I were to fuck up, I'd get penalised, so when they fuck up, so will they.
They didn't even argue.

i fair dig what you're saying about your pal, must've put some strain on the friendship.
i had a vaguely similar thing years ago with a loan i took out for a friend-in-need. repayments weren't much, about £40/month but he was in a bind at the end of a relationship and needed help to start over after he moved back from greece with bugger all. the emotional stuff had an effect on him and he was hitting the weed a bit which interfered with work...
result being that he was "late" with a few payments, really landed me in the sh1t at the bank, took years for the relationship to recover :(

Come on
Commercial banking has only been around since 1397... obviously he's waiting to see if its just a fad or here to stay

or...
waiting for it to improve to the point where their 'services' are actually something someone should want to have.

So far, I've seen nothing that attracts me to their 'services' in return for me lending them money.
