I do the same thing all the time
And am left gesturing dramatically at my husband while saying 'The THING! You know, the thing for [insert use here, sometimes being mimed]. I need that!' The worst part of it is that I'm bilingual and can often remember the word in French while English escapes me entirely. . .but my husband does not know French. I also constantly confuse the words 'bank' and 'post office', possibly because both of ours are beside each other. Or possibly because I am indeed losing my grasp of English.
