I've probably taken more drugs than 98% of the people here.
Yes, it's a medication joke. Been taking 'em daily since I was 10.
My drug of choice comes from Islay. And Philip fucking Morris, may they all be eaten by zombie tobacco-beetles.
I've never been tempted much by the other kind. Speed once, coke once, weed every so often to round off a Friday.
I do, however hate the current drug laws with a passion, because they are extremely stupid, counter-productive, ill-thought out and founded in ignorance and now-irrelevant circumstances (coke, for example was very nearly de rigeur until it was deemed to be distracting Our Brave Boys during WW1 and promptly shunned).
I think all illegal drugs should be subject to the same controls as alcohol and tobacco, even if I personally think they're a bit crap. Apart from anything else, imagine the revenues!

^This^
What's the point in the Govt hiring "experts" so when they come up with something that could take a lot of burden off society they sack them, or tell them their talking rubbish? If politicians know best that would be fine but as we all know, they don't know a great deal. Also the daily mail gumbies in this country unfortunately wield a bit of power, so the debate will never come up.

This.
Apart from anything else, programmes that provide free uncut heroin and needles - because, let's face it, addicts WILL keep shooting up so you might as well ensure they don't have to steal to do so or end up injecting drain cleaner, don't even fucking try arguing that giving them decent heroin isn't a good idea - anyway, these programmes have been proven to work but they keep getting shut down because people Just Don't Want To Know. Never mind that crime and death rates drop like a lead balloon. Drugs are Bad.

Oh but surely everyone realises
That when you ban something people immediately stop doing it.
Seriously though apart from the basic freedom of choice argument why should I have my choice of intoxicant constrained by a minority who are unable to control their intake.
Legalise, tax and regulate and the policing cash recovered can be put into world class rehab for those who need it
