"But remember," I added in what I thought was a dry tone, "88.3% of Internet statistics are made up on the spot."
They diligently wrote it down. I didn't bother making any more jokes that term.

As a fresher, I fell for that one. After two years of my college telling my how uni was serious business, I kinda spent the first term in a daze until I realised half the tutors were winding up the undergrads.
