Contact the transport company, ask them to call the driver.Meet him at your stop on the return, he hands you the bag, off you go home to glow in your cleverness at resolving the situation and be lonely.

I knew someone who worked at the transport company in question.They were once called by a bloke asking if they had found his cocaine on the bus and could he please have it back. Apparently the bus company obliged, but they did take along a few mates from West Yorkshire Police.
