a nerd writesthat's how most 'proper' DJs of a certain age started out.
DJ QBert (quite possibly the best scratch DJ of all time and a true pioneer) and his fellow DMC World Championship winner Mix Master Mike (now in the Beastie Boys)have both attested to this youthful practice.
